Dear Students,

Completing your degree in a timely manner is one of your great challenges. Cal Poly Pomona, and the entire CSU, is working hard to encourage student success by addressing graduation and degree requirements.

One area where we need to focus is the summer session. When I ask students about their interest in attending summer school, they invariably say that Cal Poly Pomona does not offer the courses they need.

Help me address that problem. Please note below a link to a very short survey about your perceptions on summer session, as well as the type of course offerings you would want. It should only take a few minutes and it is my intention to take this data and work with every college to make sure we are meeting your needs.

To thank you for your time, we will enter every survey participant in a drawing for an IPOD Nano (first prize) or two chances at free parking for the spring quarter (second prize). It’s our way of saying thanks. To be eligible for a prize, please have your survey completed by Friday, February 10, 2006.

It is important to note that the Governor’s proposed budget for 2006-07 will buy out the fee increase scheduled for all CSU students next year, but there is no commitment beyond that year. Attending summer school can certainly impact your ability to complete your degree as soon as possible. In the end, I hope your participation in this survey will go a long way in creating the type of summer session that will benefit all students.
