![]() | The Olson Company Career Opportunity The Olson Company will be on campus on May 25th - this Thursday to interview students for positions as Assistant Superintendents. Position Summary: The Assistant Superintendent, under the supervision of the Director of Construction and the Superintendent, is responsible for the management of the Land development, Home Construction and Warranty on a specific project, or projects they are assigned. The primary area of focus of the Assistant Superintendent is to schedule and oversee the homes from the Drywall Stage through completion while learning the intricacies and responsibilities of the Superintendent Position. The Assistant Superintendent, under the supervision of the Director of Construction and the Superintendent, is responsible for expenditures, job reporting, training and direct supervision of the Trade Contractors and Laborers assigned to the project or projects they are assigned to supervise. Essential Job Functions under the supervision of the Superintendent: 1. Oversee and schedule construction related activities on assigned projects. 2. Assist with the permit process within the governing municipalities. 3. Deliver homes within the desired and stated time frames set by the Superintendent and Director of Construction 4. Complete development and improvement tasks within the desired and stated time frames set by the Director of Construction 5. Assist in the management of all relationships with the customers to maintain a professional and successful relationship. 6. Interact directly with the Sales and Marketing staff to assure that the companys objectives are being met. 7. Direct the field staff and Trade Contractors to properly build and reproduce the Model Homes constructed on each project. 8. Direct the field staff and Subcontractors to maintain the Model Homes and inventory houses in conditions presentable to prospective buyers and within acceptable standards set by the company. 9. Direct the field staff and Subcontractors to maintain their project, including in and around the Construction Office in a condition presentable to prospective buyers and within acceptable standards set by the company. Typical Mental demands: Must be able to perform construction and business related math calculations including some geometry. Must be able to analyze Purchasing, Construction, and Financial documents. Must be able to read, interpret, critique and improve construction blueprints. Must be able to deal with stressful situations including but not limited to: a) Deadlines b) Work Load c) Customer Satisfaction Must be able to apply deductive reasoning to problematic situations. Must be able to communicate, orally and in written form, desired objectives to: Subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors, subordinates, consultants, coworkers customers and other business related professionals. Maintain a professional and positive attitude. Working Conditions: Work outside in all weather conditions. Must work evenings and/or weekends as needed. Work in close proximity to Hazardous chemicals, dust, dirt, and other particulate. Required mobility to and from office and jobsite. Required mobility around construction site. Office and personal facilities provided at the job site that are usual and customary in the industry. Job Requirements: Minimum of one-year experience in a supervisory capacity in the residential Construction industry. Or a Bachelors degree in Construction, Engineering or Management |
