Fewer accepted to CSUs despite record number of submissions

The number of applicants to Cal Poly for fall 2008 is the highest it has ever been, but with the recent budget cuts to the California State University system, 1,000 fewer students may be admitted into the college, according to President Michael J. Ortiz.

This year, 24,522 freshmen, up from about 21,800 last year, applied to Cal Poly.
