Fall 2006 Last date to drop

Dear Students,

You may drop courses for any reason through the 15th day of instruction. For Fall 2006, this date is October 11th.

After the 15th day, the student must submit a “Petition to Drop after the Third Week of Instruction” to obtain approval to drop a course. These petitions are only approved for serious and compelling reasons that directly affect the health and well-being of the student. If circumstances cause the student to wish to withdraw from all classes, the “Petition to Withdraw Completely from the Current Quarter” should be submitted. These forms are available in the CBA Student Services Center (6-219) and the Registrar’s Office. The College of Business Administration requires complete official documentation for all such petitions.

Illness, accident, legal problems, death in the family and military service are generally acceptable reasons to drop after the 15th day, however the particular circumstances of each student will be considered in the decision. Petitions to drop because of failing grades or changes in work or personal schedule are generally not approved.

All petitions must be approved by the class instructor, your department chair, and the Associate Dean of the College of Business Administration. The petition process is not complete until all three levels have approved the request. Students should continue to attend classes and submit coursework until a final decision has been made.
