Aug 5 - 25 – Withdrawal permitted by petition and only emergency clearly beyond the control of the student

Aug 28 - 31 – Final exams

Aug 14 – Fall 2006 Fee Bills available via BroncoDirect

Aug 14 – Sept 1 – Check account balance and credit card payment via BroncoDirect

Aug 21 – Fall 2006 textbooks available at Bookstore

Cal Poly Pomona has been recognized as one of the nation's best campuses for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students. The university will be featured in The Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students, the first comprehensive campus guide to highlight the 100 most LGBT-friendly campuses in the United States.

· SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL RETURNS TO CAL POLY POMONA
Reserve tickets now for the annual Southern California Shakespeare Festival's rendition of "The Winter's Tale," which runs Sept. 8 through Sept. 30. All performances are at 8 p.m. in the university's Studio Theatre. http://polycentric.csupomon a.edu/news.asp?id=1311


· MEMORIAL RUN TO BE HELD FOR MATT MYERS ON OCT. 14
Communications student Matthew Myers died tragically last year after he was struck by a car while crossing Kellogg Drive near the Arabian Horse Center. A memorial 5K run/walk is being held to raise money for a scholarship fund named in his honor. Volunteers are needed. http://www.mattsrun.com


· TWO-DAY CONCERT SET TO ROCK CAL POLY POMONA
Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) and Goldenvoice Concerts team up again to rock California with The Bamboozle Left festival at Cal Poly Pomona, the largest event ever to be hosted by the campus. On October 14 and 15, 2006 the Cal Poly Pomona Athletic Field will be transformed into a two-day music festival where more than 40 bands including Dashboard Confessional and Brand New will perform live for thousands of fans on three stages. · TRACK & CROSS COUNTRY TO HOLD SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNEY
On Sept. 18, the Track and Cross Country teams will be hosting a best ball golf tournament to raise funds for student athlete scholarships. Cost is $150 per golfer and includes pre-tournament lunch, golf and cart, awards banquet dinner and raffle. http://www.goldenspikes.org

· JEAN GIPE APPOINTED INTERIM ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE
Jean Gipe has been appointed interim associate dean for the College of Agriculture, effective July 31. Professor Gipe comes from the Apparel Merchandising and Management Department in the College of Agriculture. http://polycentric.csupomon a.edu/news.asp?id=1313


· MCNAIR SCHOLARS SHOWCASE RESEARCH
After six months of intensive research, 18 bright Cal Poly Pomona McNair Scholars showcased their findings at the seventh annual McNair Scholars Program Summer Symposium on July 27.

· THOUSANDS OF NEW STUDENTS VISIT CAMPUS
Since June, nearly 4,800 new students and 1,000 parents have toured Cal Poly Pomona during fall orientation.
