Alcohol citations can lead to loss of aid

Students who booze on campus could lose their state financial aid and scholarships in West Virginia from a bill that was introduced by the state senate on Jan. 10.

There is no similar law in California, and Cal Poly's policy is financial aid will not be taken away if a student is caught drinking near campus; students' financial aid is taken away for low grade point averages or taking too few units, according to the financial aid Web site.
