Dr. Robert T. Bush ~ PHY133

Does anybody know what the format for the midterms and finals are? Does he give partial credits?

Does he allow there to be crib sheets during the exams or does he provide some sort of crib sheet?

Does the homework count for a lot of the grade? How does he grade the homework?

More details please. EXTREMELY bad sounds like an exaggeration.
Too much work? Picky grader? Can't enunciate?

I haven't had him for a lecture class, but I heard all he does is derive equations on the board and doesn't solve many problems. If you've had physics, you know it's important to have someone walk you through at least a few problems so you get the hang of it-especially in phy 133. It's most likely the hardest of the 131 sequence.

I had Bush for 132L, and he was ok. The main thing I didn't like was that he talked for 30-45 minutes about the lab and it was mostly theory. In a lab, what I want to do is do the experiment, make sure the data is sufficient, and leave ASAP. I don't want to hang around there for the full 3 hours.

He sucks, he sucks, he sucks, he sucks, he sucks. He derives equations all day on the board and expects you to remember every single thing he writes down. he also sweats profusely and has to leave the class periodically to dry himself off in the bathroom. That's not a joke.

This guy's a homie. He's easy as hell. He'll teach you enough to do your homework. Can't complain about that. If you don't study and do HW, you won't do will in any legit class...period.

In response to your question:

It's 2 midterms, 1 final. I think a few quizzes, class assignments, and around 6 or 7 hw assignments. I think you get a cheat sheet, but no examples. Homework is worth about 10% (standard). He has a grader do his grading, and it's pretty obvious he does. Straight forward instructor. If you vaguely know what you're doing, you'll land at least a B. I got an A, and I wouldn't say i tried that hard. I feel I've learned what I need to out of that class.

Not bad..

I had him for PHY131.. It's a crapshoot in there... if you do well on one exam, you should get an A.

Final exam: started as 5 questions, ended as 13 questions (he wrote new ones on the board when the whole class looked lost).. 40 points per question.. 40 points on the final was a C for the whole quarter. No guarantees this is always how it happens.. but this is how our class went.
