Dr. Chuck Johnson, MHR423 Business Plan

Professor evaluation for Dr. Chuck Johnson.
Dr. Johnson teaches MHR 423 Creating A Business Plan. Let me tell you, this course will get you working from the get go. Four to six students are assigned randomly on the first day of class into a team.

The class meets only once per week so it is a long four hour lecture. But it sure was not boring! The lectures were profound and intellectual. And believe me, you will not fall asleep. Although MHR 423 was a 400 level course, I did not expect the course to be this challenging. Dr. Johnson challenges the team with small details to grand ideas that should be factored into the business plan.

Class participation is highly recommended because the professor gives participation points on every class meeting. If you don't speak up, you lose those participation points which is a large percentage of your whole grade. Dr. Johnson encourages the students to speak up, challenge the professors and classmates with oppositions, ideas, and questions. If you take his MHR423, participate. Simple as that. If you're introverted, you are SOL. You need to put all effort to participate.

MHR 423 is a challenging course and Dr. Johnson expects quite a lot from the team. During the first week of class, he informed everyone that each team should put 400 to 500 hours into their project.
He was right in the end.

Two thumbs up for Dr. Johnson and I recommend taking MHR423 with the professor. Good luck!

One word to pass Dr. Johnson's class: TALK

The more you speak during class, the more he notices you and the more participation points you earn throughout. Those points accumulate every class period so if you want that high grade, you gotta talk.
I personally would recommend another mhr professor (another faculty is teaching for winter and for further quarter) for the business plan course because Dr. Johnson does not like to give A to students. The highest grade one of my team got was a B and she was like the top student based on all performance.
