About Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA)

PIHRA (Professionals in Human Resources)

What is PIHRA?
Simply put, it's a club.


What's special about PIHRA?

"Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) is a volunteer-led, fiscally sound, nonprofit association offering services, leadership roles and development opportunities for its members. We provide opportunities for member interaction and professional development to enhance and enrich the profession. PIHRA serves as advocate and source of expert information on Human Resource legislative information. We contribute to the body of Human Resource knowledge and promote professional ethics."

As a student chapter, our primary goal is to get our members connected to the working industry by using resources at PIHRA central! PIHRA reaches across the state. As a side note, we are also affiliated with SHRM which is a much larger nation-wide network! If you wish to know about CCP PIHRA, visit out web site.

When: Every Tuesday (except 2nd Tuesday of each month), 12:00pm
Where: Room Centaurus (Student Union lecture room, bottom floor)

I had to use the restroom during the student hour when I noticed a lot of students inside the Lecture Room.
I would definitely join PIHRA just to network and build human resource experience. Great organization!


For your information, PHIRA is part of the SHRM - Society for Human Resource Management. Looks good on your resume.

PIHRA - Professionals in Human Resources Association
Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) is a non-profit California Corporate dedicated to providing information to Human Resources professionals of all levels. PIHRA started in 1944 in Los Angeles by a small group of business professionals with the intention of sharing knowledge and ideas to help better their professions.

PIHRA is the largest chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest association devoted to human resource management. Consisting of about 5,000 members and representing over 3,000 firms, PIHRA consistently wins the Annual Superior Merit Award from SHRM.


SHRM - Society for Human Resource Management
The Society for Human Resource Management's student membership offers the opportunity to supplement classroom education with real-world knowledge and hands-on experience.
Since the first chapter was chartered in 1965, the student program has continued to grow. The SHRM student membership program now includes over 400 affiliated student chapters and nearly 10,000 student members.
