Electric Circuits 7th editon or earlier

I am not selling, rather i am inquiring about how good this book is over all. I am taking ECE 109 spring quarter and I have read reviews on this book that indicate that this book is very bad. I read the reviews at amazon.com and basically say the examples worked in the book to illustrate a concept are straightforward and simplified whereas the homework problems are way beyond the scope of the chapter at hand thus making things difficult for the student. Just any feed back about the book/course in general would be appreciated. Thanks. I hope this is the right place to post this.
