Arrow What is your future career?

Every one here has a career plan that we wish to achieve in our short lives. Just like to get a feel on what the members would like to do with their life. [/size]

What are your career goals by the time you are at your thirties? Do you believe you will achieve your goals?

My goal is to setup numerous small businesses. If the demand is out there, I want to venture towards that market.

I have three options during that I can do when i get to my 30es.
1. FBI forensic agent, since this is what I would like to do, that's the reason why I am double majoring in chemistry & chemical engineering.
2. Chemical engineer at Bayer or the company that is developing medicine for AIDS. I like this major, but the FBI appeals more to me.
3. Welder, if by some reason I drop out of school, I have a technical title, so I can work it out.

1) So far a friend of mines told me that as soon as I graduate I can work for a company that he is working for and make 25k-35k. It's not too bad out of college, but he said I could do it for a year just for fun.

2) I would persue my international marketing degree and work overseas.

3) Become a PGA pro and teach golf during my spare time.

Good thing is that these goals are realistic, but the 3rd one may take about 3-5 years.

Definitely a fascinating field, but better make sure you have the stomach for it! I love watching CSI and movies where the forensic geniuses put together tiny little clues to come up with the truth. But man, lots of nasty gore to wade through sometimes if the shows are the slightest bit accurate. If you can take it, definitely go for it! Even if the FBI doesn't take you, there's still the police crime labs.

After the 9/11 tragedy, government jobs are widely available and the FBI agencies are seeking all college graduates in many fields within their department. You can check out the employment listing on their FBI site.
What I like about government related careers is the full benefits you receive (dental, doctor checkup, retirement plan and etc.) and the rank level, which is based on your experience and effort. But working for the government is not in my interest.

Ruler of the World (or at least Califorina), but if that dosent pan out hopefully I can get a job with a race team as a chief mechanic/engineer.

FBI agent is also appealing to me, my friends older brother went into that from being a mechanical engineer and he has fun doing it.

Bossless Enterprise

By the time I'm in my thirties I want to be a totally successful events planner/manager. It can be tons of fun if it doesn't drive you crazy first! So all you students who go corporate, remember to call me when you need 110 sparkling pinecone centerpieces for your holiday bashes or even a custom award to present to your most productive employee.

By that time, I would like to get my doctorate in psychology either specializing in quantitative methods (using stats) or experimental psychology. Once I have my doctorate, I would like to teach at a university in addition to conducting my own research.
