How Will the Broncos Do This Year?

The pre-season is over. We almost beat WCC co-favorite LMU and played toe to toe with USC and should have won one of those games. Now all of them count.

How will the Broncos do?

it will be VERY tough to win the western regional.
i think we will end up as a three seed, but from there are in position like twice before to win it all. will go with elite eight.

My hope will be elite eight. I agree it will be tough to win the West region. As long as the west region is not in San Bernardino we will have a chance.

i want to see our men do the same thing to san bern for the home opener as what arizona state did, blow them out.

i think they can do it for one reason. team cohesion. jeff oliver once again has more talent. but once again coach k. has greater teamwork since our guys have played together longer. the yotes have essentially a new team and it takes time to develop your players within a team system.

but will go cautious. broncos by eight. it won't be another nail biter. am way more concerned about humboldt.

why are u talking about San Bernardino game today. The Broncos play their first game against Western Washington at 3. My prediction for Western Washington game. Broncos by 2.

The only reason why I mention San Bernardino in my last post because what is the last time we won in their bulidling. If the regionals are there I can see us getting eliminated early.

agreed. broncos in a split up north but will defeat western by six. they are in a down cycle this year with the seattle schools and central washington expected to be stronger. and the alaska schools always are tough as well. but with humboldt on our side we will place at least four in the regionals and perhaps five.

thanks, bro...am logging in now. forelli is from washington so is motivated to do well in front of homeboys.

guess these western washington vikings haven't adjusted to bronco basketball, eh? while we were playing down to the wire with the university of southern california trojans, WWU was playing...gulp...mul tnomah bible college?

another stroke of genius for coach k. play the best and see what you have. i knew we would handle western easily, but not so sure about seattle pacific, which won the west region last year and are nationally ranked again.

Dagger!!!!!!!!!!!

cook hits a huge trey with 1:14 to go. ballgame! puts us back up by eight.

now garbage time...broncos win!!!!

final score poly 75, western washington 66.

once again, neon deon has proven he is da man. a great piece in the local paper on him, front page of the sports section, about him and his dad, who played in the NBA for eight years.

this seattle pacific game tomorrow could be a preview of the regional finals.

here are the final stats:

broncos shoot 49 per cent from floor, 50 from long range, and only 55 from the stripe. this bad charity shooting could keep haunting us. our men led wire to wire and dominated the paint, 32-22, against a pretty big lineup and also won the battle of the boards, 39-37.

cook had total game 19-6-5 and is putting all american level numbers up.
neveau had a career game 16-5-0.
forelli was 14-3-0 which also must be his best ever.

and larry (double double) gordon does it again with 12-11-4.

nobody else had more than 4 points.

in sum, a great opener, one that confirms what several players have stated--this team is considerably better than last year's 17-10 club. great show, guys, after a long flight.

good win for the Broncos. Tommorrow game will be tough. To make it even worse were playing at Seattle Pacific. My hope Broncos by 2, but i think Seattle Pacific will win by 4. Hopefully I am wrong and the Broncos pull the upset.

WTF---I thought we were playing tonight???
Totally missed the game!
What time the Seattle game--they are ranked fifth in the nation. Beating them would be huge!

Great win, Broncos...WWU went to Sweet Sixteen last year before losing by four in regional finals. That Bible college was not a good test for them to start.

i think the game will be at 7 but lakdod seems to be pretty wired on this.
is there a webcast on that game too?
the western announcers gave some props to the broncos but of course said that the vikings youth was a factor.

remember we play this team again in las vegas next month.

That's the 4th-ranked team in the nation with almost their entire team back. decent showing since we were playing on their home floor. they need to lose some GNAC games so that we won't play on their home floor for the regionals since the top seed hosts each year.

larry almost caught another double double with 17-9 as did baby shaq at 17-8. guess his back is okay again, good news. dion added 15 and was all tournament team.

solid showing, men. now time to corral the 'yotes at our place. the next three games will be huge. we must win at least two and preferably sweep.
