When registering, if the instructor that is teaching a specific course is not listed, does it mean that an instructor has not yet been assigned? Or are there other reasons for the lack of information?

From my experience, staff is a placeholder when an instructor is not yet decided for the course. It will eventually be decided toward the end of the quarter.

It also means that staff will most likely be a part time lecturer. They only list the tenured professors on our class lists in case they make changes to who is teaching what class. It's something to do with the policy for the professors... or at least thats what a dept secretary told me last time I asked...
