How many units

I'm going to be an incoming freshman to CPP for Fall 2005 and will be taking 4 classes which would equal 14 units for myself. Two core classes i was advised to take my first quarter and two other GE courses. Am I on the right track??

I was going to suggest starting w/ 3 classes at 4 units each...but 14 is not bad...

it also depends on other factors...

what classes are you taking?
do you work? if you do, how many hours?

Like the previous post, it all depends on how much you work. 14 units, first quarter, no work, medium diligent student you should okay.

I did 16 units, worked 24 hours a week, and walked away with a 3.0 GPA my first quarter. Whats your major? Sciences will be more challenging and require studying if you don't have a firm foundation, and english/history/etc will require tons of time to read and write papers and essays. Eh... I'm talking so much i'm not helping! SURE! Try 14 units, you have 3 weeks to figure out if you can handle it before your GPA is affected.

College advisor knows what is best the for incoming freshmen. Take their advice and plan your schedules each quarter with them.
