I got into pomona engienering without completing eitehr of the above. I'm transferring from a pretty good engineering school and am female, so that may have been why they let me in. LOL

Cal Poly places very little emphasis on a transfer students completion of lower-division GE courses. The admissions process is based upon an equation, resulting in an index number out of a possible top number of 5000. The equation contains 4 parts:
1) Completion of specific undergraduate courses
(Calculus sequence, Physics sequence, Chemistry sequence, as well as English Comp and speeh)
2) GPA *in those courses*
3) GE certification
4) Work experience/extra curriculars

Note that sections (1) and (2) make up the vast majority of your admissions index; the GE cert and extra currics are trivial in comparison. You should take a look at the specific breakdown on the admissions website.

Hope this helps

They never have you list those on the application. I wish they did, I'd love to have listed those! Hehe.
