![]() | Stanford 99, Broncos 70 too much team speed on the cardinal side. game was videocast and poly looked pretty good, particularly from three point land where hervey and dion were hitting. cook had 26 points as i recall. remember, stanford is ranked 13th in the nation. a decent showing for our guys. |

![]() | the last time the mustangs played the broncos in anything was mens soccer a couple of years ago and the enemy barely survived, 1-0, against a bad team. does anybody even wildly imagine a stinker 5-22 poly north team would tackle coach kamansky's elite eight 24-7 team last year? or would faith dare take on the ladies of coach thomas who are FIVE TIME national champions and have won more post season games than anybody? on the mens side the broncos had a power rating more than 30 points above the 'stangs. face the facts: SLO is ducking us. they are afraid. you posters in the north ask your coaches why not? in the olden days we had some great rivalries and the roadies were great, old alums say. bring them back!!! as for stanford, they are a top fifteen team. coach thomas did the same thing by playing arizona. we can beat almost all the cal states and should stay within our ability level. how about matches with UNLV? now THAT would be a road trip!!!! |

![]() | I think we all know that SLO is Div I, but SLO probally has one of the worst Div I basketball team in the country. I think Pomona would give you a good test and prepare you guys for the Big West conference. Finally SLO should schedule Pomona instead of the Div II great of UC San Diego and CSU Stanislaus basketball team. |

![]() | yeah, giants you need to get off those drugs you're on. SLO will destroy pomona in basketball? prove it!!! go tell faith to call coach thomas. and let's make it a doubleheader, bromley versus kamansky's boys. broncos would win both of them in double digits. maybe you might have noticed that your womens team just lost to lowly division two bakersfield on your home floor at mott gym? |

but if the mustang coaches are afraid of scheduling games that count--and the evidence clearly shows they are--why not some exhibitions or practice games? btw, how will poly north do against stanford this year? do i smell blowout? ![]()

![]() | I, personally, would love to play CPP in athletic competitions. Maybe the pomona coaches are the ones who don't want to play. It takes two to tango. FYI- CPSLO beat cal last year, so it's not like we can't keep up with bigtime competition. |

![]() | good catch! guess coach bromley could not fit the broncos onto the schedule in order to get that dominican game in. what are they, NAIA or DIII? okay, now let's take a look at the current mustang sked: first, you take on maritime academy (whatever that is...a navy base team?), next up is mighty cal baptist, NAIA, and then you have two of our conference bottom feeders in UCSD and stanislaus state. wow!!!! impressive!!! neither of those schools have ever finished in the top four of the league in the fifty plus year history of the conference. the bronco men, btw, are defending conference co-champs while the mustang men finished...where in the big west?? like dead last maybe?? both coach kamansky and coach thomas have been quoted in the poly post as saying they will play SLO anytime, anywhere, anyhow...assuming your coaches can tell santa maria junior high they are off the slate. |

![]() | Cal maritime is a cal state which has a very close affiliation with SLO. We do cal poly at sea together every spring. It appears your coaches would like to play us, and I would like SLO to play you guys, but I guess bromley doesn't want to. Maybe he's too busy beating cal. Anyway, our program is not the disaster you make it seem. In fact, we went to the big west championship 2 years ago. A win in that game would have netted us a birth in the REAL ncaa tournament. "Bromley led the Mustangs to a Big West Conference Tournament Championship game in the school's seventh year in the conference falling short by three points of a NCAA Tournament appearance." |

![]() | giants, from a reading of your own mustang fan web chat site it would appear that most SLO people want bromley fired along with faith. that said, you do have an excellent football program we only dream of getting back, and your volleyball program is on par with ours as well. great catch on getting that coach from st. marys. |

That said, the men have lost two All Americans from their 24-7 team. Am predicting them to go something like 20-9 while the ladies should improve slightly on their 20-8 team. Let's say they go 21-7 or 22-6. Men will be third in league play, women second to Bakersfield which already has beaten two of Giants vaunted Big West teams on the road.

![]() | Another Stinker Year for SLO Coming.... Quote:
That is unbelievable. To barely defeat UC San Diego on your home floor clearly shows how bad SLO is again this year. UCSD never in history has even finished as high as fourth in the CCAA--and ususally is in the bottom half--and further proves that the bottom feeders of the Big West (ie, SLO and UC Riverside) would be very hard pressed to even be in the middle of the pack in the lowly DII CCAA. Now do you understand why SLO and UCR want no part of the top tier of the league...notably, Pomona and San Bernardino???? Did you notice that San Bern played toe to toe with USC and barely lost??? It also shows that DI is all over the board when it comes to quality. UCI beat another DI team back east by more than 50 points. There are entire DI conferences like the MEAC, Patriot League, and SWAC that are far weaker than the DII CCAA. BTW, there are ZERO athletic scholarships at UCSD. That means a virtual pick-up team almost beat a fully funded Mustang squad. Get a rope. I would be choking were I coaching at SLO. ![]()
