![]() | I think the Ontario Raceway donated them to us back in the day. They were about 40 years old when they retired, and the Ontario raceway has been closed longer than I can remember... Maybe they were being repaired the whole time you were there... ![]() |

Sorry.... I am new to forums and posting and the like. I always forget that there might be a second page. When I look at a new page for the first time I always scroll down the first page and find something funny to respond to, not realizing that there might be other pages. I'm sorry - I guess I'm retarded.

![]() | Actually, the trams had been around since the late 70s. They used to travel through the center of campus (past the library, the marketplace, the bio and environmental sciences building and down University Drive to the F lots). But I don't know if they went any where else other than that. I never road them. I was always afraid that we would hit a bump and I would fall off. Or that my backpack would get stuck and I couldn't get off the tram. I'm a little paranoid, I guess.

![]() | Zoe, here is the reponse from the Parking and Traffic guy here at CPP ![]() "That is great!_ They were certainly in service and Facilities Management probably had 3 tram drivers on the payroll a decade ago._ Having personally suffered thru the trams an entire year before we threw them away and upgraded to buses, I understand how various work issues and mechanical breakdowns could make it appear that the campus had no trams._ There were many days when only 1 of the 3 trams was operating and when you figure in lunch, breaks, refueling, it probably only made 12 trips/day._ It was probably also during this mid-90s period that the trams were completely rerouted so that the Bio Building could be built._ They basically only ran from the F Lots to the Library for about 2 years. Hope this helps paint a bigger picture of the illustrious tram history at Cal Poly Pomona, Chas. " |

| Fire-breather | Well that was nice of you! That could explain me not seeing the things, especially if their routes were so limited and infrequent. I only had a car my last year of college so I was probably nowhere near the tram routes most of the time. Thanks for establishing my sanity! ![]()
