Join the rally followed by a campus march to speak out against sexual assault in our community.

April 13th - Denim Day
Denim Day is an international protest against rape & strives to eliminate rape myths. There will be an on-campus Denim Day exhibit.
Come wear jeans and protest rape!

April 13th - What's Hot, What's Not Fashion Show
A visual way to address victim blaming based on the way a person dresses. It educates our community about harmful sterotypes of sexual assault victims. Join our protest!

April 15th - Dating/Domestic Violence and the Law
Presentation by Sora Kim of Break the Cycle
The Law protects Dating/Domestic Violence Survivors. Find out how!

April 20th - Self Defense Classes for Women
Empowering, informative, fun and free!

April 21th - "Get on the Bus" Denim Day in L.A.
Take a bus ride with us and join the Denim Day rally in L.A. from 10a.m.-3p.m. Make a social statement with a fashion statement.

April 22th - "Rock the Beat" Airbands Fundraiser
(AIRBAND, or band, n. A group made up of 15 to 25 men and women that dances, lip-synchs and acts to theme based music. A dance competition.) All proceeds will go toward future Asian and Pacific Islander Student Center and Stop Violence Office programming.

If you are:

• followed to your work, home, or wherever you go;
• inappropriately approached or confronted;
• receiving unwanted calls, e-mails, pages, gifts, or letters; or
• threatened with bodily injury to yourself or your family or friends

• Secure your home
• Get a cell phone and keep it with you at all times
• Be selective in giving our your phone number
• Vary your normal travel routes
• Inform trusted neighbors, (RA's in the dorms) or roommates of the situation and provide them with photos or descriptions of the offender and his car
• Have roommates or sorority sisters screen calls and visitors
• Use an answering machine to screen and record any inappropriate calls

Self-Defense Classes for Women
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Are you interested in taking a more proactive approach to your safety here on campus?
Please join us for this very special, absolutely free, self-defense class just for women!

We are happy to provide this 2-hour self-defense workshop for women at Cal Poly Pomona. You will receive important tips on personal safety, physical defense techniques, and assertiveness training.
Self-Defense Classes will be open to all women on :

APRIL 20th (1st Phase) and MAY 5th (2nd Phase).
Both Self-Defense Classes will be held at Java the Hut (Building 71) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Please call (909) 869-3102 to reserve your space!
