I would like to see option 1.
I like to search for a textbook by typing in the title and lets me see which textbook provider has the lowest price. Are you planning on getting these services?

well there really aren't that many people on cpp forums... it would help if we had more than 10 votes =Þ. as of now, i don't think that there's really enough people to put up a search engine...

Exactly JPWRana. We need to come up with new promotion ideas to get the word out. It might be difficult for the end of this quarter due to the weather but that shouldn't stop us. Also by December, Cal Poly Forums will be on the top rank for Google and Yahoo search engine.

soonhongx, the textbook search engine is a new feature I might add near the end of the quarter or the beginning of the quarter. The new service is going to be available for all members and visitors and not part of the forum . It is going to be a separate website. I will let you know ahead of time when the service will be available.

Would be great to see all those services available for us. But if not, I would like to see the service from top to bottom, top being I would use the service most often.

If you have the time, money, and friends maybe you could distribute flyers?

On the down side, that might pollute the campus.

You can all upload pics at www.imagestation.com and link them here. It's free!

yeah... we need to think of a way to advertise so that it's not so expensive... maybe all of us divide the campus and give out flyers... are the ones you uploaded with a stamp of university approval?

um... what's blogging?

Spreading flyers on campus during the first week of the winter quarter can be very effective. But it does take participation for members to spread the flyers.
The orange flyers I posted around campus is approved by the university. Doesn't seem to be very effective though.

Blogging is a terminology coined from web logging. Millions of online users started to write their diary/journal entries online. Blogging is very popular and Xanga is one of the most popular blogging service (free) out there.

I chose the textbook engine search.
I rather purchase my textbooks online like Amazon, B&N, and Buy rather than going to the campus bookstore.

I love to see a gallery for members too.

No problem. The promotion is not really necessary but to accelerate the growth of the forums.
I am not worried about getting members but I don't want to wait a whole year or so.
And passing flyers during the student hour seems very effective as to getting the word out.

I'll think of when we should do the promotion and I'll treat you all out to lunch if you participate and have time.

I like to see a search engine to find cheap textbooks.
The campus bookstore is hurting my bank account.
