#6 Seattle Pacific 69, Broncos 66

another heartbreaker for the boys. down by one and with the ball with ten seconds to go it would not go down and another top ten team sneaks out of kellogg gym with a narrow win.

sure hope these tough losses will start working their way into victories. the young talent like LG continue to mature so there is hope. and we have the best coach in the league.

next game: dec. 28 at home.

It was a tough game to lose. We had a chance to win the game but the shot did not want to go in. I can not believe how many offensive rebounds Seattle Pacific had which cost the Broncos the victory.
Some good things for the first time I saw the big man doing a good job scoring in the post. Gordon is going to be a monster for us in the future.

LG already is. give coach bill bannon the cred for luring him to pomona over DI looks. what a great catch. shades of jeff bonds, a freshman making big time contributions and earning major minutes.

KD looking better. and J-28's shots will go down. better to drop this one than in the NCAA tournament. one more GNAC game and then time to grind it out in conference.

BTW, with san berdoo having a losing year (2-4) and riverside (0-8) even losing to DIII puget sound the broncos are easily the best team on the east side of the city with only fullerton clearly better.

our friends over at riverside are having a record year. first, the AD fires the coach of something like 30 years on the floor of a home game. then he hires his buddy who works down the hall even though the dude has no head coaching experience.

and now riverside (0-8) owns the only loss to a DIII team by a DI program in the entire nation. riverside fans are talking about wearing paper bags on their heads for the next home game.

our guys are okay. they're young. but coach k. CAN coach. they have lost narrowly to two of the six best schools in DII. i think they still are in the hunt. bakersfield looks a bit ahead of the pack, with sonoma (which really beat santa barbara), san berdoo and our boys right there. any one of those four programs can win the league and contend for the elite eight.

Man it sounds like SLO will atleast get to 4 wins because they play Riverside two times this season. That is sad if a Div I team lose to Div III team.
I agree with you that it look like Bakersfield is the favorite to win league, but I think our Broncos will beat Bakersfield on 7 of Jan. Even though we lost to Sonoma I think the Broncos will come back and beat them on the 4 of Feb. In my opinion I think the Broncos will only lose two more games the rest of the season. One at Bakersfield and one game on the road probally to San Bernardino(hopefully not).

Smile The Boys Light It Up for 101 Points

Five players in double figures including Neon's triple double.
II takes 20 shots, scores 24, and Melvyn has a career night.
Awesome scoring show but some troublesome signs as conference play opens next week:

2 for 10 from downtown? no outside threat then the bigs must play much bigger.

9 for 15 from the stripe? this can be a killer. when games are close those free throws make the difference. this is totally unacceptable.

this team has lots of potential. melvyn is surely making a difference. if the two bigs keep making progress and the shooting improves, we can make another tournament run.
