![]() | 2005 Concept Contest - Cal Poly Pomona Rose Float Do you have a good idea for our next award winning float? If so, please make sure you enter the concest that the Cal Poly Universities (Cal Poly Pomona and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) conduct for our 2005 entry into the Pasadena Tournmane of Roses Parade. Anyone may sumit a design based on next year's general parade theme, "Celebrate Family." Concept Contest Rules - Entry deadline is 12 p.m. , Friday, February 6, 2004. Entries should be turned into either Janetta McDowell, Office of Student Life (room 121) or to Ron Simons, University Advancement (CLA Building - 5th floor tower). Questions may be directed to: Janetta McDowell at 909-869-3642 - Names should not appear on the entry. The below entry form should be placed in a sealed envelope attached to the back of the entry. All entries should be anonymous. - Entries should portray an idea or concept for a float rather than a finished design. Concepts may be portrayed by a black and white sketch, a color drawing or even a written description. All entries will be judged by the merit of the idea rather than the quality of the drawing or description, however, a more clearly presented idea will fare better than a poorly presented one. - Entries should relate to the theme of the 2005 Rose Parade, "Celebrate Family" - There are no entry restrictions for entries, but contestants may be advised that drawings approximately 11" x 17" or larger tend to present ideas more clearly than smaller ones. - There are no entry requirements for applicants and more than one entry per contestant is allowed. All entries become the property of Cal Poly Rose Float. - Contestants should try to avoid copyright infringement (i.e., Disney, Warner Brothers) within their concept. - Grand prize will be awarded to the concept that is developed into a float. Grand prize includes two tickets to the 2005 Rose Bowl or a $250 cash prize. Multiple winners will have to split the prize.
