Puerto Rico CPP Trip? (From Email)

Majors,

Because the US State Department has restricted travel to Cuba, our traditional Cuba program offered each summer will not be able to go forward this year ( and possibly not until relations between Cuba and the US improve significantly). Dr. Vadi is exploring the possibility of joining an on-going program in Puerto Rico sponsored by CSU Long Beach that looks at the Caribbean as a whole, including Cuba. The program is about the same length of time and Dr. Vadi would accompany the students who go. Students who have already been to Cuba are eligible to participate in this program and take the courses for credit since they will be different courses.

The key point is we need interest shown from at least 20 students within the next two or three weeks. About 7 students have already expressed interest.

If you think there is even a possibility that you would be interested and able to participate, please contact Dr. Jose Vadi at jmvadi@csupomona.edu as soon as possible. He can provide you with more details. Dr. Vadi is working on finding scholarship support money to help cover the costs of students needing financial assistance, though that might be easier for him to do if he has a reasonably large group of interested students.

Thanks.
