Lightbulb props to cheer team and pep band

in the spirit of hall's great tribute to jimmy here's two more good news stories in a down year of team disappointments, smaller crowds and crumbling facilities:

1. THE BRONCO CHEER TEAM: in more than twenty years of following bronco sports never have i seen such a large, professional, and well orchestrated effort as i did friday night. there were about two dozen fully decked out cheer members (with a record number of guys), complete with a banner. they were energetic and exuded the kind of class you see at big DI programs. awesome job, team!!!!

2. THE BRONCO PEP BAND: this band holds a special place in my heart, for some eight years ago i presented the idea of a pep band to dan bridges, then our athletic director, after a call to dave koppin, professor of music. the rest of the story is pure magic, as this group has grown and spread its glorious sounds all over the state. now this awesome band is talking about the ULTIMATE roadie, 14 hours in a van to arcata! bronco fans should come out to senior night saturday just to hear this great group!

anybody seen Billy Bronco? we're missing our mascot!

The Pep band deserve more credit than they deserve. Honestly without them and few of the fans Kellogg gym will be lame for the games. They also make alot of the road trips for many of the basketball games. If they are making that road trip to humboldt props to them. I really want to make that road trip one year but can not this year. The pep band shows more support for broncos athlethics than any group within the school. I know some of them and seem like a fun group to hang out with.

What an awesome post mr. jay. Its about time someone recognized the spirit of the Broncos. The cheer squad has come along way from the days of 3 or 4 girls to now a squad that boasts 19 boys and girls to actually performing at halftime now.

What more can I say about the pep band? They have an awesome director in steven corrall who gets them organized with practices and free pep band gear. Remember folks they play for free. They do get a stipend from athletics which covers minimal costs but without them, our games would suck with the horrible crowds, shitty performances by the broncos (sometimes), and terrible facilities. And if they really go to humboldt then this pep band has reached new heights!

THE PEP BAND IS THE REAL MVP OF THE BRONCOS THIS SEASON!
