Otters beat Gators in Seaside with playoff implications

SF State lost at the Kelp Bed last night, which is one piece we had hoped for.

Now San Diego needs to sweep both mid-state teams to help our chances for at least a four seed.

Does anybody know the second tiebreaker? If it's point differential then our 11-point win against the Otters here is trumped by the 17-point blowout loss we suffered at their place and means the Otters must lose to the Tritons.

Unless Coach K. can guide our men to a northern California SWEEP, starting tonight at Sonoma.

here is the tie breaker from humboldt's message board
Section 4. Determination of Seeds/Tie-Breaker.
(a) The CCAA Championship Tournament will consist of the eight (8) teams with the top
eight winning percentage in the regular-season schedule.
(b) If there is a tie in the standings, regardless of the number of teams involved, the
following factors will be used, in this order, until all ties are broken:
(1) Head-to-head competition
(2) Record vs. the next highest ranked opponent
(3) Determination by the Executive Council
(c) In the event of a tie in the regular season winning percentage among eligible teams
for the CCAA Championships, the tournament participant(s) and/or seedings will be
determined in the following order of tiebreakers:
(1) Head-to-head record
(2) Compare tied teams’ winning percentage against teams selected for the
tournament
(3) Compare tied teams’ winning percentage against highest ranked nonparticipating
tournament team
(4) Coin flip

anyways tonight will be the game that will be important. if the broncos win we will not be the 8th seed. anyways the broncos either want ucsd to sweep or be swept depending on what the broncos do this weekend up north. I think tonight will make alot of things clearer in the seeding of the tournament. The key today is a broncos win. If we do not get a win almost a gurantee the broncos will be playing either humboldt or SB in the first round.

the second tiebreaker is good news for bronco fans given our split with the league leading coyotes combined with our victory over the jacks.

i really would like to see our awesome band one more time at kellogg, and you never want to back into playoffs by losing.

Broncos likely headed to seven or eight seed now

If the Eagles win on the road against scott peterson state college in turlock and we lose as expected in Arcata then we fall from the three to the eight seed and get to come home to play the yotes tuesday night.

If the Eagles lose then we stay in the far, far north for five days watching redwood trees grow and get to lose twice to the Jacks at unfriendly East Gym.

The eight seed looks to be a far better deal.

There's no way we host even with an upset, which would send us to San Diego, Carson, or SF for a first round roadie.

Next year's team will have the distraction gone and presumably have a true point guard at long last in Austin Swift. Let's hope this year was an exception and not the beginning of a trend. Let's also hope the team learns how to shoot free throws.

x-man is in mourning...both broncos and titans collapsed in key games.

we had about 2,000 fans going wild last night but we couldn't find the basket. and yeah, nobody helped larry at sonoma. one guy can't beat a whole team very often.
