I need your help friends, please. SLO or Pomona..

I'm transfering to one of the Cal Polys, but I don't know which one is going to be better for me. I'm thinking of attending a good Electrical Engineering school and then finding a good job in California by the time of my graduation.
Which one is better?
Which one is going to make it easier for me to find a job?
Which one is More Fun?
How hard is it to get into CPP?
..ETC

Help me please..

to be honest, cal polys are letting enough dumb iditiots in as freshmans. I doubt they will let more of those transfer in.

you are better off staying close to home, and go to cs-sf, or some other closer cal state.
you can save money by living at home.

Nooooooooooooo not 2.0 GPA. This is my first quarter. I got A's in all courses and only one C in Math. I made a stupid mistake choosing the instructor that's why. I got Computer Science, English, and Math. I got A in both English and Computer Science. But C in Math. But hopefully I will be doing better starting next quarter.

I want to go to Cal Poly. I'm strongly interested in Cal Poly not San Jose state or SF state.

By the way, I'm not going to be one of those Idiots. I know that I'm a good student. I used to be one of the best in my Country (Sudan) and now I'm trying to be as good as I used to be.

So, guys please help me with my Questions I asked in my first message..!!

cal poly is a tech school, heavy emphasis on math and sciences. you will be taking math classes the whole time you are here, and if you got a C in math, you may struggle here.

cal polys are just another cal state school, dont let the name fool you.

of all the cal states, slo is ranked 1, and pomona is ranked 2.
but pomona is near LA, slo is near nothing.

Thank you lWong, nice reply.
I just like to tell you that I'm good at math, I got a C BECAUSE THE INSTRUCTOR WAS DAAAAAAYMN TOUGH. I believe that he hates me though. However, I'm gonna be okay taking alot of Math courses.

By the way, Cal Poly Pomona is near LA? I thought it was in LA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And another question.. I'm going to try to find a company that will sponsor me and work Full Time. Which Cal Poly is going to be better for me? I mean which one will make it easier for me to find that Job????????????????? ??????????

you dream too much.

CPP is 25 miles east of LA.

Most companies do that "sponsor" for masters or phD. But if you really want, UPS does that in Pomona.

So you need a student visa?

I'm sorry man, I think I mixed up. By the word SPONSOR I didn't mean that they pay for me or something, I just mean that they hire me full time. I'm already holding an F1 student Visa. I'm in the US already MAN. What I need is that when I graduate I find a company that will hire me so I can work for them full time, and that I will be able to change my Visa type and be a permanent resident.

So, what do you think?

I'm sorry to have to tell you this guys. But some people in this website's forums make me feel like Cal Poly Pomona students are Stupid. Furthermore, they don't even know how to welcome a Guest..!!

I've been asking one simple questions dumbheads might answer, now this Threat's got more than 10 replies, and I still didn't get the answer to my question.

Anyway, thanks..!!

i'd say slo is more fun becuz it's a college town.
i'd say the job chances are better at pomona becuz many companies are right down the freeway.

parties and college life: slo
jobs and internships: pomona

both are more demanding academically than the other cal states with more emphasis on math and science.

Cal Poly SLO: Better student body (HS gpa of 3.8), Higher ranked (#5 in West), excellent summer internships/co-ops, very low diversity (74% white)

Cal Poly Pomona: Less selective (HS gpa of 3.3), Lower ranked (#31 in West), i hear has better internships during the school year, much more diverse

SLO has a higher peer assesment score than any UC except for Berkeley in engineering. Pomona is better than a couple UC's in engineering, but I forget which ones.
