![]() | Mustangs Roundball Schedule is out too While the Broncos open the season playing at UCLA--arguably the mecca of all college basketball--the Cal Poly Mustangs open play...with...gag... Notre Dame de (who?) Namur???? Wow, tough opener Coach Bromley. Then a roadie to the Oregon State Tournament before a brutal schedule that includes....gulp...C al State Stanislaus, St. Mary's, Occidental, and Sac State??? Are you kiddin' me???? While Poly South is playing at UCLA, at LMU, and at USC this is the best Poly North (SLO) can do???? Which is the DI school? Wow. |

![]() | I am going on a limb and say SLO will beat Occidental. I actually like there team this year.I think that SLO will win 15 games in the season and two in the Big west tourney. That record might give them a chance to make the NIT. The reason why we have a great exhbition schedule because UCLA, SC, and LMU wants a decent oppenent to play before the regular season start. |

[quote] you're REALLY sticking your neck out, dod, and i'll go you one further and predict mustang wins over notre dame de namur and scott peterson state teachers college. and yes, they might get to fifteen wins but with that pathetic schedule it won't get them an NIT bid. are you @#$%## me???? the NIT skips over a Big Ten or ACC team with a 15-14 record and takes SLO? must be that strength of schedule, dude. loading up on occidentals will do that to you. hey, how about a prediction on the bronco season? tough ride of eight straight road games before the home opener. and NONE against anybody as lame as occidental or notre dame de namur. bromley should be ashamed for posing as a division one coach. |

![]() | i agree cal poly north will be better. the past few years have been rough for the 'stangs after going to the big west finals in 2003. some observers have them in the top three or four in the league, typically behind pacific and long beach state. am not sure that soft early schedule will help though. yes, it may save coach his job, but pacific and irvine by comparison are playing some major big time schools and not the patsies bromley has located thumbing rides to SLO. when strength of schedule factors in the mustangs lose big time. that said, fifteen wins is highly attainable and perhaps one or two more. would think they need eighteen to be an NIT candidate, including another trip to the conference finals. amazingly they draw fairly well at mott gym with such lame opponents. must be little or nothing to do around the central coast? |
