![]() | MHR 405 Service Learning Winter 2006 (E-Mail) Hello MHR Students, We have received questions from students regarding the difference between MHR 405 (Training and Development) and MHR 405S (Training and Development-Service Learning) both of which are offered in the Winter 2006 quarter. Both classes will present current theory and applications of employee training and development. The students will gain experience in determining training needs, selecting methods, planning programs, and evaluating results. The 405S course has the additional benefit of being a service-learning course, which means that students in the class will gain experience in working directly with a non-profit Cal Poly Community Partner to evaluate training needs and create a solution. Service-learning benefits students by providing real world, hands on experience while at the same time providing an important service to the community. Students in prior service-learning courses have indicated that this has been an invaluable experience for them. If you have additional questions regarding MHR 405S, please feel free to contact the MHR Department or you can E-mail Joe Duncan at JEDuncan@csupomona.e du.
