![]() | martial arts/karate club Hello, I will be a new student to Cal Poly Pomona this fall, and I didn't notice a karate club. Does anyone have any information or would like to start a club? (I am a 3rd kyu in shotokan karate.) Thanks, L Wong |

![]() | on the schedule of classes, it had two different sections: beginner and advanced karate. I don't know if it's still split apart or combined as just a regular karate class. i think aikido became combined into one class. sometimes, the teacher works at other schools, so it may be hard to contact them..ehe |

![]() | Find an KIN instructor (or non KIN instructor) that is willing to start a Tae Kwon Do club. I don't think it would cost much or any money to start a campus club. Actually, you might not require a Cal Poly instructor in order to start an organization. Should check out the OSL Office of Student Life office for more info on starting a campus charter. Let me know who is really interested.

![]() | awesome, i dont know martial arts, but i've seen some crazy martial artists do some insane flips...im really into that kind of stuff since they correlate with what i love to do: dancing. there's one LA dance team called Sick Step with a crazy ass martial artist who just flips and flips all over the place and on top of that, he can dance ![]() |

![]() | well, a lotta martial artists are good at it! for a dance class we had a brazillian fighter show us all these moves which look like eddie in virtual fighter...kinda like a break dance/fighting style, and boy can he flip...i bet he could take down a couple guys using his fighting techniques. does that count as a martial art? |

![]() | I believed it's called Brazilian Battle Dance. Fighting technique doesn't really count as Martial Art. Martial Art is more toward you trained after a specific style, such as Jeet Kune Do, Akido, Judo, Karate etc. They hardly do flip in those. In the United States, it's more like to show who's more flashy, such as who can turn more in the mid air. I saw this Martial Art competition on TLC, I was thinking WTF is this? |
