Mandatory Consumer Information (E-Mail)

A Special Message to the Campus Community

Cal Poly Pomona is committed to providing students, their families and the campus
community full disclosure of all consumer information as required by state and
federal laws and regulations. The laws are intended to satisfy students' right
to know, and afford the opportunity for students to make fully informed choices
regarding the institution they elect to attend. Please take a moment to read the
information below and then visit the Consumer Information Web Site at
www.csupomona.edu/~visitors/consumer/index.html where you can read information on
five additional policies and download a copy of the document. If you have
questions or concerns regarding this information, please contact Visitor &
Information Centers at (909) 869-6930.

Drug Free Schools and Community Act

Cal Poly Pomona recognizes its responsibility to provide a safe and productive
educational and work environment and seeks to create and nurture a campus community
where healthy lifestyle choices are fostered and promoted. The University complies
with and endorses the Drug-Free Workplace and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities
Acts and recognizes that addiction is a treatable illness. Students and employees
are encouraged to seek assistance through available treatment programs.

Cal Poly Pomona's alcohol and drug abuse prevention plan includes medical evidence
demonstrating the health risks of drug and alcohol abuse; standards of conduct that
prohibit unlawful possession, use or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol;
a description of legal and campus disciplinary sanctions; and descriptions of
available drug and alcohol counseling and treatment programs. A full copy of Cal
Poly Pomona's Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy may be accessed through the University
Catalog, at www.csupomona.edu/~guidebook/policy/administrative/alcohol/policy.htm,
or by calling Student Health Services at (909) 869-4339.
