library alarm

I just bought my books from the bookstore, and when I went to the library, the sensors went off. Is there a way I can get them to take off the sensor in the book?

Thanks.

they said nothing they can do about it. Since it was a used book, someone probably bought it somewhere else, and returned it during buyback.

And if the library can't deactivate it, why not just move on. Unless you visit the library daily with that textbook inside your backpack, you shouldn't be worried. Well if you do, why not find the little security tag and carefully remove it with a razor.
