Are the Lady Broncos Back?

it's been some time since we've seen dominance in women's basketball on this campus, not since 2004 when we went to the Sweet Sixteen under paul thomas. our sleepy webmaster still shows that team in the newest media guide even though it's now three years old.

but whupping northridge of the big west on their floor last night is a very good sign.

i'm going to check out the ladies against fullerton tuesday night. this will be the first time a titan team has played in kellogg gym in more than twenty years even though the two schools are less than fifteen minutes apart. so huge props for a DI coach agreeing to this for the fans here.

by the way, the crowd at northridge was 650, which is awesome for an ladies exhibition game.

xiaoxue, let's see how your titan ladies look. i'll agree you're at a better university with far better facilities but we stay may rule in roundball even if in an ancient gym.

and good luck to the bronco men today against irvine.

Man that was an ugly game to watch. All i got to say a combination of sloppy play and very quick Fullerton team lead to a 40 point blowout for Fullerton.
i think fullerton looks better than the 6 best team in the big west. So right now I can not make a judgement on this team.

Back? Or DEAD?????

man, it was weird going to my old gym to root AGAINST the broncos.

but my titans didn't need my help. they RULED against another pathetic bronco team. and it looked like there were more orange and blue rooters in the stands than green and gold. in my section it was all fullerton.

beating northridge doesn't mean squat, jb. everybody knows they suck in the big west. but you don't mess with the elephants. we will stampede you.

and who sez chinese chicks can't play roundball? our hot point guard ate your team alive. lauren and toni thomas scored at will against your team and dominated the backcourt.

come on over to titan gym to see some real basketball, bronco fans. i can hardly wait to see what coach burton will do this year.

i just roll into my office xiaoxue and here's an email about your newest post. lakdod and i were wondering if you might be in the stands last night. we should have known.

yeah, the broncos stunk. as lakdod said, we were outquicked at every position, and you can't defend against speed. and yeah, lauren chow ate our lunch. she is one tough point guard. fullerton had a ton of big girls but went with their smaller, quicker lineup. smart move. we never were in it.

i'm not so bothered about the broncos getting blown out by a solid DI team but rather the lack of support by the athletic department. there was no box score on this game posted. why? and some of the team links now show teams from not last year but two years ago. the web site only shows corporate logos when you click on it, and you must scroll down to find even the most recent news. and all the stories are bare bones accounts.

and still no sign of any webcasts. it looks like we are moving backward as a program rather than forward. so xiaoxue you will have a field day talking smack unless we get our act together fast. fullerton is a school twenty years younger than we are but has been DI for decades with many national caliber programs. it's like nobody cares around here.

Well I agree somewhat. I think the fans were split half from Pomona and half from Fullerton and plus the schools are only 15 min away. So i was not surprise the amount of Fullerton fans.

Maybe Northridge is not that good of team, but still it was a division I victory for the Broncos. I never get how titans are related to a elephant. go figure that out.

I rather watch the broncos mens basketball team that are contenders for the dvision II crown. Than watch a Fullerton team that would be having a hard time fighting for a bid to NIT. Xixaoue I warning you now the attendence at Fullerton basketball game are not that good. You will still think you are playing at the division II basketball gym with the amount of people at some of the games.

xixaoue If you were at the game I bet you probally saw me but probally did not know who I was. one thing i got to give credit to fullerton they actually came to a division II gym to play a game. Not alot of schools would ever do that.

Hopefully the Broncos athlethic department is just going through a traditional phrase, and soon they will get their act together. One thing for sure they got to cahnge the website. I mean it looks like it outdated by ten years. The context in the recap is so bad that I might as well write it. IN the terms of the SID position, Paul is ten times better than what we have right now. Of course I could only hope to see improvments. It also looks like there are doing more promotional night to help boost attendance. Hopefully it will work, but I have a wait and see attitude.

i think i saw you...are you in the pep band? like the pep band leader? i was in the titan section over a few rows where the bronco students used to sit. they didn't show up but the titan nation did. and we way outnumbered you, lakdod, probably 250-150. and that's weak when you have more fans as the road team.

check out the titan web site. it rocks. you get the news and highlights and future games and everything on one page.

bronco site is really lame. yah, paul helms did a great one at LA. that one is major league like ours, bronco site is worse than bush league.

NO i am not in the pep band but I know the people there they do a great job. I was the one wearing a football jersey. In the first half i was sitting behind the scoring table, and i move to my regular area where the students sit for the beginnign of the second half. it was probally more like 220-180 broncos but the fullerton had alot of noise about while we watch in silent.

xiaoxue, lakdod and i were sitting together behind the scorers table during the first half of the fullerton game. he was wearing what looked like a chargers or bruins football jersey, and i was the good looking guy with a chicago bears hat next to him.

you must have been directly across from us among that group of titan supporters. sorry we missed you and hope you will return to see the men play. and don't forget they draw the gauchos next week at UCSB after staying within single digits at irvine this past weekend.

we have a shot. if stanislaus can beat santa clara and san diego can handle riverside (well, less of an achievement) on the road then we can do the same.

apparently no bronco webcast (if ever any all year) but i think the gauchos have one. i think our starting five will match up okay but they should beat us from the bench unless we play a near flawless game.

oh, i was sitting across the court from you. i was the good looking guy in the titan section.

and by the way, our men beat bakersfield--the wannabe DI team without a league--by almost 20 points and then whacked your lowly golden eagles by another 20. now we go on the road for almost a month, looking for somebody who will give us a match.

good luck to broncos, though. they will need it this week against the gauchos. they are always tough on their home floor.

xiaoxue, i see how this year will go for you. we're going to get a steady diet of fullerton smack every time your titans win. i only wish we still had a regular series with them like years ago when we had rivalries with all of the other cal states. now much newer schools like fullerton, northridge, and long beach have gone big time while we're still living as if it were the 1950s.

check out the coyotes on ESPN tonight and give us your impressions.
