| Active Member | Just failed my midterm <rant mode> I'm a straight A student, but ME 217 w/ Dashner..... That mofo is CRAAAAZY. 1 hour to do 4 freaking hard problems....I didn't get an answer to ANY of them, I'm counting on partial credit to at least get me to 30%. I don't think ANYBODY finished in our class..... MY GOD I'm gonna fail that class</rant mode> |

| GCP.com Admin | Dashner is one tough cookie, that is for sure. The material requires a lot of comprehensive thinking, and Dashner always pushes the line. For the next midterm, I recommend trying to understand the concepts and practice going through the problems conceptually really really quickly. He tends to make his tests just barely enough time for people who understand the material well. Tip: Look for tricks to make the problem simple, go over his examples in class and learn what tricks he used there, he normally reuses them during the exams. Luck is also needed. I took his ME215 class and pulled a B+, I was #1 or #2 in his class too, I learned a lot though! Good luck! |

| Active Member | Last week I took my midterm for ECE 405. I thought I flunked it (I was really sick when I took it), but I got it back and got an 80!!! I write this not to brag, but to explain that there's always hope. Does he curve grades? Hopefully everyone else did bad. When I took PHY 133, the average for one of the tests was 34!!!!! |
