Cool Jboyd Is Da Man!!!!

can you believe it?
the nation's leader, our own j boyd, hits an unreal three with six seconds left and comes back to defeat conference leader cal state bakersfield 70-69 in overtime!

bake had the best record in the league at 15-4.

broncos are finding the right time to get hot. great team effort! on to cal state los angeles sat nite!

Wow what a game I was going crazy in my room when JBoyd hit the three to give the Broncos the lead. The end of the Second Half was exactly like last year game at Bakersfield in which the Broncos last year came up short, but this time they came out with the victory. Also you got to give credit to Larry Gordon who had some big plays in the end of the second half after Cook fouls out of the game. I think he had 3 big pts and a big Blk at the end of regulation. I think after this game I might go and watch the Broncos play at Cal State LA

In a sidenote I wish the best to Coach K who was not coaching the game attending a family emergency hopefully its nothing major and he will back coaching soon.

Here what Bakersfield website said about the game especially about JBoyd's shot.
http://www.gorunners.com/RELEASES/FEBRUARY2006/mbb021006.html
Why would they mention and compare the way we won the game and called the play the immaculate deception. The people who wrote that must of been bitter about the lost. The way they describe the play it seem to me the event will usually occur at least once in a game. Also while listening to the brodcast Paul Helmes mentioned about how Bakersfield after the first game against Pomona how the refs cost them the game @Pomona. It makes me think that people of Bakersfield think if they lose to a team they believe they should beat they will either blame the refs or the team got lucky. Instead they should blame it on the team because both loss Bakersfield just choke in the second half.

bakersfield cries a lot because this is a highly successful program with multiple national titles that simply cannot beat the broncos. we now have won nine of the past eleven games against this perennial national playoff team. something else of note is that kevin gilmore is the sports information director there who also is a bronco alum. yet another tidbit of note is that the roadrunners are in their first year of division one exploration. that means they are expecting to start bringing cal and stanford type schools to their arena soon. not a good omen when you keep losing to our little team, eh?

now let's beat the eagles

great game as everbody else has said already.
nice crowd, too, we should get 2,197 to our games like that.
the only downer once again is the shooting.
in this case it was my favorite hervey (HOTDOG) malone combined with billy (BABYFACE) hoffman shooting a terrible 1-for-9 from long range.
now the men need to avoid a letdown tonight at LA.
go get em!
