![]() | Huge Buzz On UCLA Campus about CPP Game while we seem to be sleepwalking on the pomona campus there seems to be a lot of chatter about the opening of the UCLA basketball season. evidence: 1. UCLA Radio hyping cal poly pomona game this thursday. 2. web interview on bruin site with point guard darren collison in which interviewer notes season opening this thursday. 3. ben howland gives pep talk to student section at past weekend's scrimmage asking all blue and gold supporters to show up for the first game thursday with cal poly pomona. where is OUR buzz? i've seen nothing on campus other than this chat site. who's in? |

![]() | No one knows about this game other than the parents, boosters, athletic department and a few students that stopped to actually read the asi beat flyer about packing the bus. This game will not be sold out, but UCLA offered it as part of the season ticket holder package so some fans will be there and plenty of football players looking for something to do on a thursday night after their practice. Unfortunately the bus is only taking students to the game with a vaild id so for "xiaoxue ming" who is not an student, your going to have to hitch a ride to the game. Call me Shannon Sharpe because if your car broke down in a snow storm and I was driving by you, would I stop and pick you up? NO!! |

![]() | where is the buzz I do not know but I been waiting for this game since it was first announced. I guess the school is trying to get the die hards on the bus first. I am surprise the school have not sent a email notifying the students about the event. Maybe we need to spread the news about the game. The next two days we might have tell everybody we know about the game. How about someone leave a message about the game on one of the Myspace forums and hopefully people who do not know about the game will now be inform about it. Does anybody else have an idea? |

![]() | myspace...great idea! am going to tell everybody in my classes. students complain this is a commuter school with no real college experiences. now we have one, a road trip for almost nothing to the most well known gym in the world against the team with more national titles than anybody, and the students don't even know about it. heck, coach wooden might even be in the stands. |

![]() | mike norys has a nice column in today's poly post about the game--though it's written entirely from a personal perspective. nowhere in the campus paper is any mention of the bus, the ticket deal with ASI BEAT, or even the time of the game. over in the student center i could find a total of ONE poster anywhere. sheesh....just another game against the national runner-up and the most storied name in college basketball. |

check out BRO, which stands for bruin report online. some smack going on over on the bruin boards, notably one schmuck that calls poly the butt end of mt. sac. cheap shot! the daily bruin now has had three different stories about this game, and there was a fair amount of discussion about the game on radio today too. a couple of comments about cook and gordon but obviously most of it on aboya, a moute, affalo, and all their other studs that soon will be in the NBA. here's hoping we fill our bus in SPITE of ASI doing almost nothing to support this. am told the local paper is sending THREE people to cover this game, a reporter, a columnist, and a photographer. also, the game will be webcast on our site, broadcast on AM 570, and telecast on gametracker via the bruin site. and, for the ultimate fan, another site lists a single seat directly on the floor, jack style, for $204. welcome to the big time, bronco fans. enjoy. | |

![]() | Ben Howland quote on tonight's game Cal Poly Pomona is "capable of coming here and beating us." (UCLA DAILY BRUIN, 11/2) Is the UCLA coach just being nice or is he serious? Maybe we're better than I thought! See you at the game! Go Broncos! |

![]() | coach howland was being nice. and now it will be even LESS of a game. they don't have mata but everybody else is ready. we don't have nicholson, pulido or bias--and our bench is way thinner than theirs. i smell blowout, but let's enjoy the chance to be at pauley and see if any of our remaining guys can compete at this level. heck, a loaded starbucks costs you five bucks but this is an experience for the same price you will remember for years. |

![]() | Ucla 73, Broncos 43 our guys were credible. just too much of a talent mismatch, particularly in the paint. baby shaq has lost a lot of lard and was more mobile, but a moute and affalo ate his lunch. kyle added a few pounds but way out of his league. the big surprise was booker. this kid is a FRESHMAN whose last game was in high school????? wow, potentially another FOY...he was unafraid of anybody wearing white even their three all americans. coach wooden in the house along with tons of celebs...got to shake his hand. wow, the legend. |

![]() | Are team played with alot of heart. We kept the game close in the first half with our good defense, but UCLA speed and offense was to much for the Broncos. Booker played really good and hopefully will continue his great play through out the season. Cook had a bad shooting game. He seem like he was forcing his shot. Of course a great defender like Affallo will do that to you. Defense look good at times. We just let them have to many second shot opprtunity. Eventhough we lost by 30 I was proud of the way the team played. They never gave up and gave the Bruins a tough challange. Jay you are lucky person in meeting Coach Wooden. I was hoping to shake his hand and meet him. |
