![]() | Booker Freshman Player of The Year Its not too early to say that but that performance last night was incredible. He came ready to play. Gordon held his own too down there with the big boys! Their speed was just to much to handle last night. We definitely slowed them down and even made coach howland call a time out at one point! Wow! Overall, I was impressed with our performance. I will make my season assessment after the next two games. Stay tuned... |

![]() | i doubt we will have a bus to loyola. monday night, lots of classes and midterms, etc. but USC? that should happen. first basketball game ever in that palace? and OPEN SEATING, which means we and the band can sit right on the floor with all the celebrities a la farmar and coach wooden last night. who is in ASI to make this happen? tickets are free so the only cost would be for the bus. a no brainer. |

![]() | DONELLE BOOKER!!!!!! his last game was playing for martin luther king high school and now he starts against (gulp) the national DI runnerup and all he does is go FIVE FOR FIVE against two all americans and scores eleven points in 25 minutes?????? can anybody spell S-T-U-D????? what a debut! larry gordon, only a soph, led the team with 13 points and six boards against a waaaay bigger and stronger foe, so much so that we got outboarded 44-21. i only counted two offensive boards the whole game. those bruins are so deep in 6-8 and 6-9 guys who go 250 with bodybuilder physiques that our bigs looked like dwarfs next to them. baby shaq looked more like baby huey, without the mass, next to aboya and a moute. i predicted a loss by 25. if bias were in the game, and possibly melvyn if he ever gets over his "injuries" we would have been there. next up loyla marymount monday night at gerston. |

![]() | It was touch and go since we left campus so late, but we made just as the game began. Every seat on the bus was full, and even the Band was there. Where were the Cheerleaders and Billy? Pauley is quite a place. So much tradition, and so much NBA talent in the house including a couple of Lakers. LMU should be much more of a contest. With Booker showing he can play with anybody all we need is Dion getting his shot back and Larry doing what he does and we should be in it. Cook went an awful 2 for 15, probably his worst shooting ever. |
