Housing pomona

I go to SLO, but I just got a job in La Verne. Anyone know any good housing sites I can look at for pomona/la verne area.

pomona has some pretty rough neighborhoods particularly south of the ten freeway but is relatively cheap. laverne and san dimas are costlier but safer. really depends on what kind of housing you seek.

if you have kids walnut is best and then claremont.

Thanks for the info. No kids for me. I'm thinking I want to live around Pomona in a college area, but don't know the area well. I was really looking for a housing website that a lot of students use (if one exists). Thanks.

if you want a great college environment try to find something around the claremont colleges. it would be about ten minutes away...but it is pricey!!!

yes, we have web sites and posting boards in the dorms too.

So that means that you don't go to SLO anymore? because no way you can make the drives from work to school or vice versa.

Have you graduated or dropped out?

are you married? good job? great income? what type of house u lookin for?

you didn't leave us much to work with... especially with ur 1st sentence.

I'm just finishing up SLO right now (Masters in aerospace), and starting up at an engineering company around the middle of March. Not married. I'm looking for either a room with college people or a 1bd/studio type place in the area of students (cal poly pomona). Since I don't know anyone in the area, living around college students would be ideal. The place I'm looking for would be around $650 or less a month in rent, possibly more for a 1bd/studio place. I hope that helps.

hey walshee,
you've been basking on the central coast too long...mustang land is CHEAP compared to the bronco world of socal...if you want an apt in a decent hood near campus for less than 650 greenies plan on a commute. the only out would be multiple roomies.
sorry,
xx

I'm not opposed to living with people... I just don't want to share a room. But yeah, housing prices suck.

xiaoxue said it best. Prices here STINK. I gave up on finding a place and settled on campus apartments. Not a bad deal, and not a bad commute either

However, try rent.com. Unfortunately, that website doesnt provide roomies. You gotta find those on your own. Consider coming to either CPP or the Claremont Colleges or ULV and take a look at bulletin boards. There are always ads for roomies needed.

GOOD LUCK!
