Help with my wireless network

I'm looking for a little help from you guys. I currently have a wirless network and I would like to add a computer running Windows 95 that is located in another room. I'm trying to avoid putting holes in the wall but the pc wireless cards that I have seen require Windows 98 or better. Any ideas?

Could I use a WAP and then plug the 95 into that to avoid putting software on the 95 computer?

Any help would be appreciated.

I never knew Windows 95 even had network sharing.

And didn't Microsoft discontinue updating that operating system with new patches? If it was discontinued, it wouldn't be safe to be using Windows 95. Maybe I'm wrong.

Hopefully, a CIS major can help you out there.

Yes I have to use Windows 95 for the right now (not my preference). It's someone elses computer and apparently they need to leave it as is for a while. I'm not really concerned about the safety of it being that it's not my computer and I'm just trying to get it on the wireless network so that it can access the internet.

Two choices come to mind:

1. The most ideal thing to do will be to buy a ethernet-wireless bridge, they are pretty cheap on ebay heres a direct link

2. Your other choice would be to use an ISA to PCMCIA adaptor
check here then get your hands on a pcmcia wireless adaptor with a prism2 chipset, checkout the list here to check which cards carry the chipset and after all that you need to download these drivers to get it to work under windows95
*note although these drivers are made for the ma401 they work fine with any other *prism2* based card, I had to do this in order to get my Linksys WPC11 to work on my older 486 laptop running windows 95.

In other words your best bet for wirelessly networking this computer is to get the bridge

Dude, that's pretty expensive. I thought it would be around $5-10 when you mentioned cheap.
And you can have a wireless pc using windows 95? Never knew wireless card was compatible with that operating system.

$59+shipping IMHO is pretty cheap when compared to the prices Best Buy sells them at, and yeah windows 95 is wirelessly networkable(is that a word) as I just demonstrated, its alot easier on a laptop though since you dont have to deal with ISA adaptors. Just plug in, grab the drivers and go...
