| Newcomer | ftp://username@ftp.csupomo na.edu I got a couple requests to post a thread on how to use the 50mb of space Cal Poly provides all students with. I'm not much of a computer-nerd but I'll try to help you guys out. Feel free to pm me or reply here if you have questions! 1. Control Access to your account here: https://www.csupomona.edu/cgi-bin/in...fs_acl_control This sets which parts of your account you want to keep private. I set access to my whole User name. Pro: You can host images in any folder. Con: Almost anyone can look through directory. 2. You can browse your files and directories through FTP using the URL: ftp://username@ftp.csupomona.edu/ If you are going to use a program to access your ftp site, here is the info you'll need: server name: ftp.csupomona.edu username: your username password: your password (default: yy/mm/dd) remote directory: specify a directory 3. If you are going to host a web page off your FTP, save your page as, "index.htm" ex: www.csupomona.edu/~mleong/sleepie/index.htm A good site that I found useful while creating my web site was: http://www.htmlgoodies.com If you are the computer-nerd type and would like to add info or CORRECT my mistakes please feel free to reply!! Thanks everyone! - Monica |

![]() | If anyone is having problem accessing your account (like me), visit the HelpDesk office in building 1-100. Thanks for information! I never knew we had our own space. ![]()
