This sets which parts of your account you want to keep private. I set access to my whole User name. Pro: You can host images in any folder. Con: Almost anyone can look through directory.

2. You can browse your files and directories through FTP using the URL:

If you are going to use a program to access your ftp site, here is the info you'll need:

server name: ftp.csupomona.edu
username: your username
password: your password (default: yy/mm/dd)
remote directory: specify a directory

3. If you are going to host a web page off your FTP, save your page as, "index.htm"

ex: www.csupomona.edu/~mleong/sleepie/index.htm

I use my page to automatically forward to my personal webpage. Just using a meta tag, you can instantly bounce the person who hits your cal poly site to any other website.

if you are an ECE major, this thing is pretty much mandatory to use. if you have a school account, you can also access your class folders via the net too.
