![]() | Quick question: Why do the fraternity and sorority club/organization "incorporate?" I noticed few if not many Cal Poly Pomona's fraternity and sorority organization are incorporated. ![]()

![]() | Dunno, tax/charity reasons. Helps limit liability. Allows the frat/sorority to own property/goods/rent property but can change its ceo's so that as students graduate new ones can be elected as ceo/members of the board allowing them to change people but still retain ownership with minimal hassle. |

![]() | That makes sense now. I first thought incorporating was necessary because most fraternitiy and sorority groups are available in different universities, using the same club names.

![]() | Fraternity clubs (and sorority clubs) tend to get their own house, aka frat house for their brothers and friends to crash and what not. Incorporating the fraternity and sorority would protect their frat house during certain circumstances. |
