Red face Five Years anyone?

Who's planning on staying in college for over 4 years?
Do you want to or you have no choice?

I am staying in Cal Poly Pomona for over 4 years. I have no choice.

I am also staying for over 4 years. I have no choice...

Who was the person that said that they might "purposely" be doing this? The more I think about it, the more "true" it sounds...

How about 6 years? I have a job to support myself so sometimes, I need to take only 8-10 units a quarter.
Nothing to be shameful for staying in college for 6 years.

My estimate: about five and a half years.

Two wasted in a CC, I hope I'll be done after three years in Calpoly, but I'm being optimistic...

Five years here.

I had to spend my Freshman year to satisfy the English Language Proficiency requirement, or get disqualified and sent to MtSac for "re-education."

I am glad to have taken part in the strict English proficiency program, enacted in 2000. It really helped me to reach the level where employers would expect from a University student. To 200 other Freshmen in the following quarters after Fall 2000, it was an ordeal. They were disqualified from the CSU system and sent to Mt.Sac or another community college of their choosing, and they had to complete their requirements there before allowing to reapply back to Cal Poly.

Five years minimum for me too.
I didn't pass several classes during my freshman year.

Minimum five years too. Hopefully, I won't give up but complete my degree before I reach 7 years.

I'm pretty sure that most everyone at Cal Poly has/plans to spend 5 years on their education. It's the Poly tradition.

4-year graduation rates at both schools:

Pomona: ~10% (41-45% within 6 years)
San Luis Obispo: ~25% (69% within 6 years)

Architecture majors are pretty much stuck on the five-year plan, but I'd be damn lucky (and insane) if I were to graduate in four years. But hey, unless finances are very tight, why rush your graduation?

I assume a lot higher percentage of student work/study at same time while going to Pomona than SLO.

Just don't end up taking 20+ units/qtr. and end up considering suicide (and yes, I'm being serious).

Thanks for the advice Polarman, I'll make sure to take it seriously. This is my first quater at Pomona and i'm taking sixteen units to get the feel of it. I'm planning to take 20 units a quater after this. I've managed to knock off a few classes with aps already. oh and i'll make sure to stimulate my mind with other things than school so that it'll be a great experience. *grin*
