Financial Aid Question

Hi everyone who might respond! I have just been approved for Financial Aid and they have already told me how much money I will be getting for each quarter. But I have never received FA before and I知 wondering how the money is disbursed. I mean, do I buy my books like normal or is there like some special ID card that tells you that you have FA. I know this is really dumb, but I知 just really confused by it all. I知 getting Loans and Grants. Also, I think I値l be staying at the Village and I知 wondering if FA pays for that as well or is that an out of pocket expense. Thanks again!

FA pays for your tuition and sends you a check for the remaining balance.

Imagine that you are getting $6000 in FA per year.

Imaginary numbers:
Tuition $1000/qtr ($3000 yearly)

Therefore FA will send you a $1000 each quarter approximately on the 2nd week of each quarter.

Check http://www.csupomona.edu/~financial_aid/
for updated information about reimbursement. Sometimes (like Spring '05) disbursements will be delayed by 1-2 weeks.

To answer your question about books, most people do buy the books upfront with their own money (or credit card) and pay it off with FA.
