| Newcomer | Financial Aid Question Hi everyone who might respond! I have just been approved for Financial Aid and they have already told me how much money I will be getting for each quarter. But I have never received FA before and I知 wondering how the money is disbursed. I mean, do I buy my books like normal or is there like some special ID card that tells you that you have FA. I know this is really dumb, but I知 just really confused by it all. I知 getting Loans and Grants. Also, I think I値l be staying at the Village and I知 wondering if FA pays for that as well or is that an out of pocket expense. Thanks again! -Char |

| Cal Poly Guru | FA pays for your tuition and sends you a check for the remaining balance. Imagine that you are getting $6000 in FA per year. Imaginary numbers: Tuition $1000/qtr ($3000 yearly) Therefore FA will send you a $1000 each quarter approximately on the 2nd week of each quarter. Check http://www.csupomona.edu/~financial_aid/ for updated information about reimbursement. Sometimes (like Spring '05) disbursements will be delayed by 1-2 weeks. To answer your question about books, most people do buy the books upfront with their own money (or credit card) and pay it off with FA.
