![]() | The Kinesiology department offers a lot of sports/recreational classes. For instance, if you are interested in martial arts, the kinesiology department offers one section of beginning aikido and two sections of karate (KIN 120A and KIN 123A) for Fall 2005. Here is a link to all the sports/recreationa classes that are being offered for Fall quarter: https://broncodirect.csupomona.edu. Once you have accessed the webpage, click view schedule of classes and type in 2057 for the term. Next to the term subject, type in KIN and click search. Bronco direct will give you a list of all the classes that are being offered for fall quarter. I hope this helps. |

![]() | If you are referring to sports team, Cal Poly Pomona team is very limited. But there are many kinesiology classes that you can take and lot of classes are offered throughout the day (morning thru night). ASI monthly activities, events, and performances planned for each months. The cultural centers have their own calendars planned out and you can visit the center or see posted flyers for announcements. There are numerous organizations, clubs, fraternity, and sorority groups. The welcoming week during the Fall quarter is when you get to see most of the clubs out on the field, representing themselves. It is great. Once you get involved in a club, you'll probably ask, "HOW DO I MANAGE MY TIME!?" |

| Cal Poly Guru | I believe that 50% of the KIN classes were cut last Fall (2004) or Winter (2005) due to the Budget cuts. That is all that I will say.

![]() | It seems that about 88 percent of this damn forum Web site thing is dedicated to how lame and boring CPP is. (The remaining 12 percent, of course, is reserved for hellos to newcomers, lengthy discussions about the environments of the CPP and SLO campuses for applicants who are too lazy to find previous discussions about the environments of each campus that are littered all over this Web site, and spotting some damnned Nissan Skyline 350 GT parked in the CLA Lot) Now obviously, there is a lot of interest over the social scene at CPP (given that at the point that I read this forum, there have been 177 viewers for this page). And I will whole-heartedly agree that at first look, CPP does not have the best social scene. We don't have any great bars or clubs right across the street (unless you are a horny/drunk male and think that oogling at scantily-clad female visitors, who would never come near you unless they, themselves, had gotten hammered off of the 25 cent drinks at Scoreboards, is your idea of a fun evening). And yeah, the campus is a ghost town on Saturday nights at 9 p.m. - unless there is the occasional loud drunken gathering in the Village. But it is also apparent that many CPPers really don't have any suggestions to make their social existence at CPP memorable (as deduced by the fact that only 4 out of the 177 people that have visited this forum actually had some suggestions on the subject). So here is my suggestion to all of you: Why don't you all just put up a forum to plan a massive get together on the lawn outside of the Engineering building? Get out from behind your computers and the sanctity of your downloading hubs and just hang out. You don't have to drink (it wouldn't be allowed on campus), you don't have to reveal your Cal Poly forum screen name (so you're secret identity won't be revealed) and just meet some people. Plan a massive game of flag football - or ultimate frisbee. Start a freakin' knitting club for both sexes. Just do something!

Well... looking at these statistics.. Percentage of eligible undergraduate men who are members of social organizations: 1% Percentage of eligible undergraduate women who are members of social organizations: 1% Total number of undergraduate students enrolled in the institution: 17,650 17,650 * 2% = about 353 students Number of student organizations with open membership: 220 http://www.csumentor.edu/campustour/...y_Pomona6.html Theres alot of clubs for those who wish to have a social life, but only a few people respond. Yet, I do agree that CPPers should go out and do something. Last edited by i2ealphaze; 07-26-05 at 11:36 PM. | |
