Why is Computer Science in College of Science? - Cal Poly Pomona and San Luis Obispo University Forums

Well it does involve science, but it also half engineering. Most colleges' CS is in their College of Engineering so i got confused.

I chose Cal Poly Pomona because their College of Engineering is really good but since Computer Science is part of their College of Science (even though CS is pretty much also engineering) does this mean i would not be recognized as a student that was part of Pomona's great Engineering department?

And if i am really stuck with College of Science, how is Pomona's College of Science?

As of now, Computer Science is part of the Science department, however there were talk about moving programs and department around, but nothing really solid from the administration.

However, from what I heard, the CS department is pretty well run and even sometimes better than the Engineering. I'm not in the CS department so I can't attest to that.

If you want a mix of engineering and software, you can always switch to computer engineering, it has a good balance of software programming and engineering principals.

Ah yes! I was thinking of Computer Engineering too! I want to be a game designer/developer but i chose Computer Science because it also covers 3D animation.

Even though i got admitted as a Computer Science major, im still researching the two majors to see which is more related to game developing and which one i would enjoy more
