CLA Building Architect

Who are the architect(s) of the CLA building?
Everytime I walk to the parking lot, I can't help but take a look at the impressive structure.

it looks nice for sure but how many people have gotten lost taking the wrong elevator?
people who have worked there for years say they still get lost over there.

I remember the first time my parents and I visited the campus. They were impressed with the CLA building. I wondered if you could actually go up to the top of the CLA building.

the first time i dropped by cal poly..i thought the building was really a piece of art..

then again..the more i walk around campus, the more i try not to look at it...cuz...

everytime i look at it now...i feel it looks just a little toooo different from the rest of the campus..

anyone agree? i mean, in the midst of horses and cows, there u go KABOOM. a sharp building.

I was there when the thing became "open for business". Because it was so new and completely different anything on campus the students were making fun of it. We called it the "spam building" because of it's color and blockiness. Inside is a huge waste of space too. It's hard to utilize such sharp corners, so the space is just wasted.

However the CLA Building has been featured in a few movies. The only one I can recall at the moment is Gattica. They actually filmed that movie while I was still attended classes there. Most of it was done at night so some of us living on campus would go over and try to sneak a peek at Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.

yah, and several porn flicks, too. the last one i heard about somebody in administration kicked the camera crews off campus. there was one before that portraying the female "star" of the film as a coed at our school! surely a very striking bldg that is almost non functional inside...but gets us seen outside of pomona!

my CE teacher said that building is horrible. its structurally incomplete because they had to rush to let people in because they moved out of bldg 1 and the contractor was bad
