SIGMA KAPPA FOUNDER'S DAY EVENT

On November 10, 2003 the Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority held its 22nd Anniversary Party in the Orion Suites in the Bronco Student Center. Over 250 people were in attendance to help Sigma Kappa celebrate the beginning of their Week of Giving. Throughout the evening Sigma Kappa sold raffle tickets for gift baskets, where they raised over $800.00 for Alzheimer's Disease and research. Already this year the Zeta Upsilon chapter has raised over $4,000 for Alzheimer's Disease helping Sigma Kappa the third largest contributor to Alzheimer's Disease and Research nation wide. Thank you for your continuous support.

CHAPTER HIGHLIGHT: PHI KAPPA TAU

OXFORD, OH - The Delta Tau Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau was named one of Phi Kappa Tau's top three chapters for the 2002-2003 school year, and was nominated for the Maxwell Award for best presentation being given in Oxford, OH during the bi-annual Leadership Academy. Five brothers attended the Academy itself, and four additional brothers flew out for the weekend to participate in and watch the Maxwell presentation.

The presentation itself went really well, and many people at the headquarters, and Phi Tau's from across the country, were extremely impressed by it and all that the Chapter has accomplished in recent years. The brothers who remained in recent years. The brothers who remained through the duration of the Academy were constantly bombarded by people commending them and wishing them well. The presenters, as well as all those involved with the Maxwell application itself, definitely deserve recognition for their hard work and dedication to their Fraternity.

The Chapter ultimately did not win the Maxwell award, but the experience as a whole has left the Chapter in an outstanding position. The Chapter knows what its weaknesses are and the Actives have already started making plans to improve in those areas. Furthermore, the Chapter took hom numerous other awards and honors at the Leadership Academy this summer, including:
  • Roland Maxwell Outstanding Chapter Award Finalist - Delta Tau Chapter
  • Roland Maxwell Outstanding Chapter Scroll - Delta Tau Chapter
  • Order of the Star Scroll - Delta Tau Chapter
  • Phi Kappa Tau Community Service Award - Delta Tau Chapter
  • Leadership Academy Golden Dipstick Award - Delta Tau Chapter
  • John Cosgrove Spirit & Leadership Award - Anthony Sciarra
Congratulations Phi Kappa Tau on your achievements.
