![]() | Hey cal poly pomona students: I am a curios to know if most Cal Poly students know that we have a Downtown Center not that far away from campus. As a junior I am sometimes shock to hear that we have seniors and graduate students who have no clue that we have a Downtown Center that has a major art gallery and other community services. I am a assistant to Dr.Barker who helps run the Friendmobile program via the department of psychology and the college of arts. We are in need of tutors who can volunteer Wednesday or Thursday from 1-5 (schedule can vary and its flexible) at the center to tutor elementary, middle school and sometimes high school students. It's a great opportunity for anyone who is need of community service and I do believe that Dr.Barker gives credit to those students who are in a bhs program. It's a great opportunity for students who want to pursue a career in education or social services. And to the rest of us (I am a frl major) we greatly need students who are majoring in other subjects to help out these students. Believe me this is a great opportunity for anyone who needs community service hours, which by the way look good in resumes and graduate school applications. If you have any questions you can e-mail me at jamejia@csupomona.ed u or Dr.Barker at labarker@csupomona.e du Thanks |
