Broncos Win Again in Final Seconds!

Are you #$@## me?????

This was the San Bernardino game all over again with just less excitement in the gym. We are behind the entire game, until Larry Gordon drains a three with four seconds to go, Broncos 58, 'Jacks 55.

And then Luis locks the HSU guard up and they barely cross midstripe.

Ballgame. Broncos stand alone atop league at 3-0.

This week they beat the six time league champion, the defending champion, and the team favored this year to be the champion.

That means WE will be champions!

Pass the Valium....Another heart thumper

i think coach k. just wants to keep the crowd around until the last seconds so he secretly plans these miracle finishes, time after time. that's three home games in a row...can you believe it?

larry is mr. clutch this time as he shoots 7 for 11 and 17 points while helping to hold their all american stud, kevin johnson, in check the entire game.

hey, check this out...humboldt was averaging 95 points per game until they met us...and they scored a whopping 23 in the second half.

another great TEAM EFFORT...and xiaoxue, you are right...pulido once again had the eye of the tiger. late in the second half he locked down the humboldt guards. they won't be nationally ranked anymore after getting skunked 0-2 on their road trip, but we may be at 4-1.

the rest of the month has us playing vanguard in a sleeper at home and that big las vegas tournament against two of the washington schools. worst scenario should be 6-2 going back into league play and possibly 7-1.

This day can not get any better for me first UCLA beats USC then the Broncos after shotting really bad for most of the game finds a way to pull of the victory, and finally the Lakers defeat the Clippers.

This team is going to drive me crazy, but I love it. Man it seem like they could not make a shot in the first half and they gave to many lay ups. They played some good defense in the second half and shot alot better from field. The Broncos did not even play their B game. I think they played their C game and they still beat a good team. I doubt Dion will have another 1-11 game again this season. If this team plays their A game this team might be unstoppable. The Broncos right now have to be the favorite to win the CCAA.

The attendance was a downer at 587. The funny thing there was double the people at the Sonoma game and they wrote down 442 attend the game.

Another solid defensive game even though we left few men open for some shots and easy layups. Overall another good team effort when Cook was not getting the calls inside the paint.

hopefully if we keep playing well.. others will notice and show up.

after seeing what san bernardino did to sonoma last night (75-55) in addition to leading wire to wire against humboldt it could once again come down to a war between these two bitter rivals. i think that game monday will have a HUGE meaning by season's end. sonoma doesn't appear to be a factor at the top and san diego got beat on their home floor this weekend. i think it will be a battle among humboldt, the coyotes and that other green and gold team. it's VERY hard to win in arcata. the setting is just like darlene may gym with everybody right on the floor and the place is always packed. then you add in the incredibly difficult time you have just to get there and their uncle bob refs and you hope you can just stay close. if you want to get the inside skinny on the jacks, check out www.myspace.com/humboldtsuperfan

on the attendance issue, the reported crowd friday was in fact wrong. apparently that 442 number was carried over from the ladies game and the men's reported to be 736. that seems far more accurate.

not one story in any newspapers or web sites about our upset. the sun got the coyote game in but the bulletin and tribune missed the boat. ditto the eureka and arcata papers up north. the amazing thing about that is the coyote game actually ended later than ours. huh?

Where Is Billy Bronco?????

has billy gone on vacation for the year?

here we have three gigantic home games this week and he's a NO SHOW for all three?

what kind of mascot is that?

if billy wants to duck us then send him down the ten freeway in an even up trade for wiley coyote. he's been at both of their games.

yah, that humboldt superfan dude is some kind of trip. i wonder what he will say about getting swept this weekend. bad calls?

i am going to call out some of you posters who have shown such a passion for bronco athletics like xiaoxue, lakdod, hall of fame, pl28, broncochris....

on saturday there was no webcast of the game. paul helms was so short of staff that HE had to do the boxscore. there is a message here. i would be willing to bet that paul would LOVE to have any or all of you step up and ask if you can help out for a program you all follow closely.

who knows? maybe one of you has a bronco inside (and outside) of you. it's a great way to meet little kids and do something for your university. paul can be reached at 869-2812. you'll have a lot of fun and help out our school, too. the league schedule is such that we can easily race out to a 7-0 record, possibly even 9-0. let's all get more involved.

I would do it, but I am having so much fun at the games being in the crowd. It also means I can not be as emotional as I am at the games.

okay, then bring back the Kellogg Krazees and you be the head guy.
a history major is the perfect person for that job.
unless we changed the school colors to black and white?

just don't wear that goofy bruin hat again. i never saw so many UCLA shirts and hats at any bronco game in history. go troy or go home.

yep, bad calls

that humboldt superfan says his jacks were jobbed sat nite.

his point is cuz the ref did not raise both arms to signify a trey larry's game winning shot should not have counted.

duh? no wonder the biggest major up at that tree school is FORESTRY. these humboldt dudes are dumber than lumber. even if it's only a deuce YOU STILL LOSE. get it superfan????

he seems to forget that luis stole the ball from the jack point guard as time expired. jacks never put up a shot to tie or win.

duh, huh?

the refs will be horrible for the rematch. plan on it. so we need to run the table in the early season. first conference roadie is at the swamp and kelp bed. two weakest teams in the league. sweep there for sure guys.

four losses and we still win the CCAA.

hmm..that actually sounds pretty interesting.. about helping out at the games. I think it will be great experience for any Bronco fan. However, I can't make it to every home game since I have to work some days of the week.
Thanks for the post Jay.
