![]() | Broncos season end with a first round exit The Broncos was defeated by Seattle University 69-55. What I can say about this game. They plain out could not make a shot. They shot a pathethic 30.5% from the field and 15% from the 3pt line. If there was a throw up smilie that what I will insert right here. Larry Gordon had career high in points, but it was not enough. Hall of Fame your were right about your prediction. Time to talk about next year. The Broncos will be losing their best player in Dion and two starting guards in Pulido and Hoffman, but the Broncos still have some talent with Larry Gordon, baby shaq, and freshman of the year Donelle Booker. I think for recruiting wise we need of course one PG, G/F, and C to redshirt. |

![]() | yeah, i got out of a final and listened to the game this afternoon. man, that's the coldest shooting we've done all year and dion went from da man to not there. tough way to end a great career. but the future looks nice as larry seemed to take the handoff in the second half. and hall of fame seemed to be in the know about this team and nailed the prediction. we gotta hope that rashad will be a better point guard than pulido or billy, neither did much in key moments this year. |

![]() | I like the team next year except we have no outside shooting I have seen yet. Donelle and Larry need to work on their outside shot. Imagine if these two can make a three consistantly they will be unstoppable. The Broncos need some guards. They have Rashad who is redshirting but we need two more and maybe a Center who is willing to redshirt . I prefer one JC and one from hs. It really does not matter becasue I trust Coach K in the decision he makes |

![]() | Hall of Fames Thoughts... you know i hate to be right on those type of things, but it is what it is and the broncos are who they are. they won alot of close games this year, but put themselves in tough situations when need not to be. you jus cant afford to struggle with the la's, dominguez hills, ucsd's, and stanislaus' of the world and expect to make an impact in the playoffs. anything is possible with the great mastermind in coach k but the players are the ones who play the game. and the lack of consistent play, mixed in with no killer instinct, and the inability to finish teams jus doesnt add up to playoff style bball. thats how i came up with my prediction, which i truly hoped i was wrong, but i couldnt see this years team jus turning on a switch and say let's go and win 3 tough playoff games in a row. as for next year... the broncos got some huge holes to fill! losing 3 senior guards is tough and going to be hard to fill. do me a favor and please dont mention rashad bias's name about filling any of their shoes, because the guy hasnt even stepped foot on the court and has yet to prove himself. and were talking about 3 seniors who have been through the league, won a ton of games and had a lot of experience in game situations. so quite frankly it's going to be tough for any player to come in right away and step in and lead this team to the promise land. all we can hope is that they can try and fill their shoes in due time. i know you guys were tough on pulido this year but without that guys toughness, skills and knowledge of the game, the broncos wouldnt have been as good as they were. there is a reason why he started every game this year. im sure coach k will agree to that. but overall losing those 3 will hurt the broncos. larry has to step up and be a legitimate go-to guy next year. the broncos will go as far as larry takes them. at times this year he showed what he can do, but dion was able to cover up for larry when he wasnt there this year. next year it will be larrys team, but will he step up and be an all region player, like what he is capable of doing and that we know he can? one thing for sure, kaelen has to put together his first full season of consistent play for the broncos to be a contender. he made big strides this year, but in his final season next year he has to go above and beyond what he has done thus far. im confident that the coaches will work with donelle with his shot and body size and he will have to be impact player for the broncos next year. he will log alot of minutes next year and his duties will increase. key returners next year: Coach K Larry Gordon Kaelen Daniels Donelle Booker key losses: Dion Cook Luis Pulido Billy Hoffman key factors: kevin neveu: will he improve on this season and have a solid senior season and play a full consistent season? will the broncos have solid guard play next year? Bill forelli...? other factors not listed due to my time... who knows, only time will tell, but i can tell you one thing, hall of fame doesnt comment on anything outside of basketball season. i know how much you guys love me, but i wont be tuned in as much. what are we going to do now that basketball season is over with now? i hear they have good teams in intramurals, maybe attend some arena football games, or perhaps watch barry bonds go deep in spring training? until next time... Hall of Fame signs off |

![]() | you've been a real value added to this board, fame, in spite of the scrapes you and xioxue have had. you really know your roundball, so much so that i'd bet you've played somewhere above the IM level. i agree with almost everything you said. i admit i was one of those who reported luis not showing up in various games over the season--notably, for example, during the game when both he and billy did not score a single point--but he always was the kind of nasty defender that i remember vividly when hervey was an underclassman executing key stops so that jeff and david could go off on the other end. billy was what he was, a journeyman, solid but never spectacular. and bias remains an unknown other than his heralded prep statistics. seems to me that coach will be looking for an ivan johnson type D1 bounceback at guard unless he can nail a very high level juco player away from the yotes. we just can't depend upon the high school talent pool entirely with so many holes to fill. it's not coach k's style but if you want to win at this high level you must do what you must do. larry's team? perhaps. in fact, i hope you're right in the fashion that it was jeff and david's team in their junior years--point guard j. williams' notwithstanding. i still say that was our best team since 1964 for it took a perfect game from a final four jumberjack five to put us away. if baby shaq can stay healthy it could be his team. he has the size and now the tools to put it all together in his senior season. i love his soft touch for such a wide body. he deserves a full year of being pain free. i also remain concerned about how long we can expect coach k. to pull rabbits out of the bronco hat with inferior facilities and higher admission standards. he almost bit on the northern kentucky job a couple years back, and the nibbles will keep coming for a guy of his caliber. finally, what of the future of the ladies program? while i can't forsee the huge decline over more than a decade like we've seen in bronco baseball i wonder what michelle's chances are to stay on and what we might see in the future. i remember a time when the ladies games would just about outdraw the mens, and those five national crowns throw a long shadow on the program. |
