![]() | Broncos Open Season at USC? the inland valley daily bulletin reported yesterday that our bronco men open the season with southern cal and loyola marymount on the road, and that could mean our school helps to christen the multimillion dollar palace known as the galen center. rumors abound that another HUGE early season opponent is about to sign on, supposedly one of the biggest names of all in basketball. Coach K. versus Coach K. at durham? |

![]() | Wow!!!! i heard that galen center is going to be super posh (just like kellogg gym, ha, ha, ha...) and will be a GREAT place to open up the year!!!! the bronco faithful should road trip down to south LA to see our men triumph and maybe forget about the ugly team that just failed to finish this past year. |

![]() | presume they are preseason. there is NO WAY the mustangs would want to take a chance against the broncos. for what? they would have everything to lose and nothing to gain, and their program has been bad, with overall lower power ratings than the broncos, over the past several years. imagine the big west 'stangs as an underdog against their little sister school. |

![]() | The 3 Div 1 games between UCLA, LMU, and SC are exhibition games and do not count towards CPP record. I main reason for the exhbition games between Stanford last year and UCLA and SC this year is because NCAA does not allow the div 1 school to play a pro travel ball team. I always remember UCLA playing a team from Canada or semi pro team. In the next couple of years we can expect our Broncos to play against many Div 1 teams in exhibiton games |

![]() | correct! first of all, there is no rule anywhere about what division you are in and your opponents other than those from your conference. there isn't even a rule about your playing an NAIA school like many of the bible/religious schools. but now there is a rule that college teams no longer can play non-college (ie semipro) teams. that new rule now has allowed us to open the season at the holy grail of roundball, pauley pavilion. have we ever played UCLA in basketball before? i remember we always beat them up in baseball (back when we had good teams in the 1980s) and womens basketball (back when they would play us) but ever on the mens side? many DI schools play schools from other divisions in both preseason and the regular season. UC Riverside made the brilliant move last year of ducking us and scheduling DIII puget sound instead and they lost at home. UC Irvine scheduled two DII schools last year and lost to both of them. so now you don't see those big west schools from DI doing that much anymore, other than with bakersfield which is announcing the move up. most of our original conference schools from the 1950s and 1960s by the way are Division I. years ago our league had san diego state, fullerton, northridge, riverside, santa barbara, irvine....and only cal state LA and our broncos have failed to move on. if we don't wake up soon the league will be us with channel islands and san marcos. |

![]() | the only thing funky about this is that the USC web site shows the location TBA. you don't suppose they are going to stick us in the sports arena, do you? of course it's not that bad but it would be soooooo sweet to be the first real team to play in the new palace. anybody got any insights? maybe they have an ice show or something on our date at galen? |
